Address Loc. Abbadia Isola (Monteriggioni-SI)

A Romanesque church with three naves and three apses dominates the monumental complex of Abbadia Isola. A small hamlet and the remains of a medieval fortification closely surround the church.

To the right of the religious building there are still noticeable remnants of the bell tower and the monastery rooms, set out around the quadrangle of the ancient cloisters. Used for a long time as farm buildings, these have been recently restored and host the pilgrims' hostel "Contessa Ava", the MAM (Monteriggioni Archaeological Museum) and some halls for events, conferences, exhibitions and civil weddings.
