Museum and walkway

Monteriggioni, as well as the unique nature of the town, has a museum and access to the walkway that runs around the summits of the walls.

The Museum "Monteriggioni in Arms"

The Monteriggioni museum hosts a display of life size arms and armour from the 11th and 16th centuries linked to the history of Monteriggioni. They are accompanied by areas with arms and parts of armour which can be handled and tried on, giving the visitor the opportunity to feel at one with the knights of the time.

A visit to the walkways around the castle walls is not to be missed for those visiting Monteriggioni. From the heights of this defensive walkway, it is possible to admire the surrounding countryside towards Chianti and the Valdelsa and to enjoy a unique view of the town. With a bit of imagination you can hear the steps of the soldiers who stood guard over the castle from these very same walls.
