Setting out from the Castle of Monteriggioni, the first part of the route is also the longest section, with the Certino climb in the initial part, and the part that goes through the splendid Abbadia a Isola, forming a ring with attractive but risky descents on unsurfaced paths. Continuing in the direction of Valmaggiore, Mandorlo, Casella, Fioreta, after Vallecchie, the two routes separate.
The short route turns off left on the asphalt before returning to the woods after a short way, with a beautiful single track (not too demanding) towards Cerbaia, and leaving behind it an attractive view of the Castello della Chiocciola, with its unusual cylindrical tower. At Podere Casella, the two routes meet up again and continue towards Podere Il Santo, and from here as far as the arrival at Monteriggioni Castle.
