This cycling path begins behind the municipal town hall at Monteriggioni, situated at La Colonna (locality) north-west of the castle of the same name. Leaving the building and car park on the left, you pass under the Firenze-Siena 4-lane “superstrada”, and on the other side, again on the left, the route begins. The track, mostly flat and compact under foot, runs parallels to the SR 2 Cassia, and comes to the “frazione” of Castellina Scalo. Skirting the eastern edge of the town, it ends opposite the rail station called Castellina in Chianti-Monteriggioni.
